Technopolis “Moskva” was visited by a delegation from Panama
On June 16, the President of Panama, Mr. Juan Carlos Varela, visited the Technopolis “Moskva”. The co-organizer of the event was the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, at the request of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Panama to Russia.

The Panamanian delegation was hosted by the Head of the Department of Science, Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship of the City of Moscow, Mr. Alexey Fursin, Vice-President of the MCCI, Mr. Souren Vardanyan,  Deputy Head of the DNPP, Ms. Kristina Volkonitskaya, Moscow Technopolis management – Ms. Viktoria Kazaryan, Mr. Renat Mustafayev and Ms. Olesya Maltseva.

In his welcoming speech, Mr. Fursin, noted that Moscow is one of the largest industrial centers in Russia. Industrial areas add up to more than 15.0 thousand hectares. The creation and development of a special economic zone, Technopolis "Moscva", occupies a special place in the industrial policy of the city. It, like many other techno parks, was created on the territory of the former production site, in particular - the company "Moskvich". Here, the conditions for the development of production have been created for residents, a preferential tax regime has been established, and, in particular, for many types of taxes - at zero rate, there operates a special economic zone.

The Moscow City Government attaches no less importance to the training of personnel. Children's techno parks have been created and are successfully operating; their workplaces are supplied with the latest equipment. Senior students, under the guidance of mentors, work with this equipment, acquire professional skills, become highly qualified specialists and then go to work for leading companies or enter technical colleges. Specialization in these techno parks is in nanotechnologies and robotics, microelectronics, optics, industrial design, etc.

Mr. Renat Mustafayev and Ms. Olesya Maltseva delivered the presentation of Technopolis "Moscow".
Afterwards, Mr. Varela examined the Moscow State Educational Complex, operating on the territory of the technopolis and talked with schoolchildren, their mentors.

The Head of State was impressed with Moscow's experience in transforming former production sites to modern enterprises, training highly skilled specialists in demand for the Moscow’s economy. Mr. Varela expressed interest in further pursuit of cooperation between Panama and Moscow, especially in industrial and technical areas.
