Jordan could become the logistics center for the recovery of the countries in the Middle East
On December 5, the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a meeting between the MCCI’s leadership and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the Russian Federation, Mr. Amjad Ode Adayle.

The President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Vladimir Platonov, told the guest that taxes, paid by small and medium-sized enterprises of Moscow, account for 26% of the revenues of its budget, which points the huge role entrepreneurship plays in the development of the Russian capital.

“The Chamber is vigorously developing interregional cooperation, not only within the country, but also with regions of other countries that are looking for opportunities to enhance their business contacts,” said the Head of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The development of cooperation is also assisted by the work of the Business Council of the Heads of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the cities - centers of business activity of the Eurasian economic space, which has already been joined by nine Chambers.

We are talking about real cooperation on the basis of the MCCI’s “Business Market” portal - more than 500 contacts have already taken place, 300 of them produced concrete results,” said Mr. Platonov. He also stressed that working with embassies allows for defining the framework within which it is possible to build mutually beneficial cooperation between business entities.

Mr. Ambassador noted that Moscow has made a great impression on him, and that its image, being portrayed by the media, is diametrically different from the existing one. “I want to especially emphasize the successful organization of the World Cup - everything went flawlessly, thanks to the coordinated work of the authorities, business and citizens, who showed great hospitality. I know that many fans want to return to Moscow with their families as tourists, ” said Mr. Adayle.
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Jordan noted that politically, the relationship between our countries is very strong and stable. “ Jordan plays an important role in the Middle East, including the process of rebuilding countries, destroyed as a result of military actions. Iraq, Syria, Libya are looking for opportunities for recovery, and Western businesses are gradually stepping up their efforts in the region.

I am sure that Russian business may have prospects in the Middle East. For Russian business, Jordan could become a bridge to the Arab world and a kind of logistics center for restoring the entire region, “ Mr. Adayle said.
The Ambassador also said that a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission of Jordan and Russia was held in November, during which cooperation in the energy sector, trade and industry was discussed.

The Ambassador suggested using the platform of the Arab-Russian Business Council, which will meet in April, 2019, to sign a cooperation agreement between the MCCI and the Amman Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The MCCI leadership supported this idea.
The event was organized with the support of the Government of Moscow and the Department of Economic Policy and Development of the City of Moscow.
