"On behalf of the Moscow businessmen I congratulate all of us with a significant event in the economic life of our two countries - Britain and Russia. 100 years is a huge time period for us. During this time, several generations have come and gone, the Russian political system is changing: from a planned economy we are going through a difficult transformation to a market economy.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those, who created the 100 year history of the Russo-British Chamber, as well as those, who work in the Chambers of the C6, the six largest cities of the world, for their dedicated work. Despite the difficult economic and political climate, we see many examples worthy of interregional cooperation. Most importantly, the whole century of activity of the Russo-British Chamber shows that international cooperation is permanent, while sanctions are but temporary difficulties. And the more we work together, the less impairment will be effected by sanctions to our mutually beneficial relationship."
