The Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a working meeting with a delegation from the Hubei Province of the People's Republic of China.
"We are sincerely glad to see you in Moscow, and hope that you will like our city and our country. And we welcome and enjoy seeing you within the walls of our Chamber!" - with these words, Ms. Lydia Lukashenko, the Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, welcomed the delegation.
Entrepreneurs from the Hubei Province said that they would like to re-establish a part of their cultural heritage - the “Great Tea Road”, which existed between Asia and Europe from the sixteenth to nineteenth centuries and was second in terms of trade turnover to the “Great Silk Road”. In the meantime, they expressed willingness to offer Russian entrepreneurs several varieties of Chinese teas of excellent quality. The Hubei Province is also ready to export agricultural products and raw materials for traditional Chinese medicines. Chinese entrepreneurs are also interested in developing tourism.
“In Moscow and Russia, many distributors have appeared, who appreciate Chinese tea, its culture and history. They don't just sell it - they hold tea ceremonies, know the techniques and accessories with which it may be consumed. If interested, we are ready to put you in touch with them and provide all the necessary contacts to organize trade channels,” said the Advisor to the President of the MCCI. He assured that the MCCI is ready to collaborate with Chinese partners and help them to "resolve any issue".
At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged commemorative gifts.
