It was attended by the Mayor of Belgrade, Mr. Siniša Mali, Head of the Moscow delegation, Moscow Government minister and Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow, Mr. Sergey Cheremin, the President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Vladimir Platonov, and other officials.
The business program of the Days of Moscow in Belgrade began with the signing of a number of important documents on the development of business links between the capitals of Serbia and Russia.
The protocol on developing cooperation in the field of tourism was signed by Mr. Cheremin and the Head of the Tourist Organization of Belgrade, Mr. Miodrag Popovic. The Belgrade’s Chamber of Commerce President, Mr. Milivoje Miletic, and President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Vladimir Platonov, signed the agreement on bilateral business cooperation. Afterwards, the Mayor of Belgrade, Mr. Mali and Mr. Cheremin signed the agreement on holding the “Days of Belgrade in Moscow” in the year 2017.
The Belgrade's Mayor noted that all signed documents aimed at bringing Russia and Serbia's capitals closer together are designed to introduce the peoples of the two countries to their respective cultures and investment opportunities. "Events such as conducting the “Days” of the two capitals will stimulate interest in each other, and the agreement signed today on promoting cooperation in the field of tourism will increase the tourist volume markedly”.
Next, a Conference plenary meeting was held on the development of business cooperation in Moscow and Belgrade. The participants made presentations, discussed the investment potential of the two capitals. Discussed were also the issues of cooperation in the areas of development of railroad transportation infrastructure, railways’ communications, as well as the possibility of Serbian businessmen involvement in Moscow’s scientific-industrial zones and techno-parks.
Comment by the President of the MCCI, Mr. Platonov, on the outcome of the business cooperation Conference between Moscow and Belgrade.
"The main directions of our cooperation are the exchange of experiences and effecting joint projects in areas such as the development of road transportation infrastructure, utilities and landscaping of public spaces, science and technology, trade and services, health and social protection, education, environmental protection, culture and tourism, sports”.
I must say that so far, Moscow and Belgrade have a good opportunity to expand the scope of cooperation in various areas, particularly in the area of subway construction, transportation and social infrastructure. Moscow is interested in bringing Serbian companies that have qualified professionals for construction of infrastructure projects in the city. We call upon Serbian business to consider various tenders for urban orders; we are interested in executing quality work for Moscow with the aid of highly qualified professionals, abundant in Belgrade.
In addition, we are interested in expanding trade and economic ties and also increasing the supply of agricultural products from the Serbian market to the Moscow region.
This past spring in Moscow, the largest oil and gas exhibition was held, highlighting proposals by Serbian partners in the fields of mechanical engineering, electronics, energy, renewable energy, ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy, industry and water management. Our business regarded the options for cooperation with great interest.
I would like to specifically note that all participants in this Conference have the overall objective to improve the quality of life of our citizens and strengthen economic development. The implementation of this noble task, I am sure, will serve to strengthen the friendship between the capitals of Serbia and Russia.
