On September 12th, in the multifunctional complex "Hanoi-Moscow" a business conference "The province of Dong Nai (Viet Nam): investment potential of the region and prospects of international trade ", was held, organized by the People's Committee of the province of Dong Nai, the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Russia and the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The Head of the delegation, the Vice-Chairman of the provincial People's Committee of Dong Nai, Ms. Nguyen Hoa Hiep, said that the province ranks third in Vietnam in terms of industrial production. Exported goods are lumber, rubber, coffee, nuts, porcelain and electrical goods. The region's agriculture is highly developed.
The Trade Representative of Vietnam to Russia, Mr. Duong Hoang Minh, stressed the strategic nature of relations with Russia and the great interest of Vietnamese companies in the developing commercial and industrial ties. Trade turnover between the two countries currently stands at 3.9 billion U.S., which does not correspond to the potential of both countries. At the same time, Russia accounts for only 0.5% of Vietnamese exports.
The Vice-President of the MCCI , Mr. Suren Vardanyan, noted that Vietnam is demonstrating a vigorous drive in establishing relationships. He stressed that Russia has enormous consumer potential, so cooperation with the capital presents an interesting proposition for the Vietnamese economy. Primarily, there exists a market for the export of agricultural products. He also noted that the the solution to the issues of logistics, certification, storage of goods are there. According to Mr. Vardanyan, Moscow Government supports business advancement; e.g. the laws on policies assisting investment and industry, offering investors a roster of preferences.
The Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of the Dong Nai province, Mr. Dongnay Zyong Min Zung noted that the region has attractrd investments worth 2.4 bln. U.S. The main investors are South Korea, Japan and other Asia-Pacific countries. Mr. Zung also said that the province launched production of wrist watches, and Vietnamese manufacturers are interested in cooperating particularly with Russian partners in this venture.
