On January 25, 2017 the Vice-President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Suren Vardanyan, met with the Trade counselor of the Embassy of Austria in Russia, Mr. Rudolf Lukavsky in the MCCI.
The meeting was attended by the Head of the Department of International and Interregional Cooperation, Mr. Yuri Morozov, the Chairman of the MCCI Commission on working with partners in Austria, Mr. Alexander Klepov, and the Head of the Austrian company "Brooke" KONSALT, member of the Board of the European Business Association, Mr. Paul Brooke. During the meeting the sides discussed issues of developing cooperation between businessmen of the Moscow region and Austria.
Mr. Suren Vardanyan informed the Austrian representatives about Moscow’s economy, the business climate of the capital and the MCCI’s relationship with the city government. The parties agreed to continue promoting cooperation between the MCCI and Trade office of Austria, which has been ongoing for many years and is characterized by a high degree of trust.
In the nearest future, a series of joint meetings between the representatives of both business communities is planned to be held and which, as a rule, are conducted as open exchanges of views on current, relevant aspects of doing business in Russia and Austria. The first such meeting is scheduled to take place at the MCCI.
Mr. Rudolph Lukavski assumed his duties as the Trade adviser on October 1, 2016, and also as the representative of the interests of the Chambers of Economics and Commerce of Austria and Vienna in the Russian Federation. His functions consist of organizing business missions to Russia, in conducting business meetings with Russian entrepreneurs in Austria (Vienna, Graz, Linz and other regions), etc.
The Vice-President of the MCCI spoke of the plans of the Moscow Chamber conducting a meeting with the Heads of trade missions and economic sections of embassies of foreign countries accredited in Russia, scheduled for autumn 2017. Mr. R. Lukavski supported this initiative and noted the usefulness of such events for entrepreneurs.
