On November 23, the President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Vladimir Platonov, arrived in Paris to participate in the work of the Assembly of Peoples of Eurasia.
The Head of the MCCI spoke at the round table "Business Dialogue in the Eurasian Space. Eurasia: Prospects for Business Cooperation ", which was held at the Association "Franco-Russian Dialogue" and was organized jointly by the Assembly of Peoples of Eurasia and the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Mr. Platonov told the participants about the implementation of the program for the renovation of the Moscow housing stock, as well as the works completed by now on the city's improvement, the stages of Moscow's expansion and the further tasks of the MCCI to protect the rights of small and medium-sized businesses, located on premises subject to demolition and resettlement of the residents during the process of renovation.
In his report, Mr. Platonov paid special attention to work within the framework of the C6 - alliance of six CCIs of the world's largest megacities (Moscow, Paris, London, Berlin, Beijing and São Paulo). He noted that the issue of expanding the membership in this association is now being actively discussed - the CCI of Istanbul has expressed earnest interest in joining the C6. However, during the discussion it was noted that there is a need to determine the criteria for joining this association of the Chambers of Commerce. In addition, the Head of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry emphasized the importance of creating a digital information exchange platform within the business scope of the C6 accessible to member enterprises of the Chambers in order to facilitate and enhance the transfer and optimization of information flows with foreign partners.
The Paris Chamber of Commerce and Ile de France hosted a business breakfast, dedicated to the visit of the Head of the MCCI to Paris. The meeting was attended by the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Paris, Mr. Didier Kling, Executive Director of the Paris Chamber, Mr Etienne Guillot, Head of the Corporate Communications Department, Ms. Helen Zvang, and the Regional Representative of the RF CCI in France and Benelux, Ms. Elena Medvedeva.
At the meeting, held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, the parties discussed problems and prospects for the development of megacities, based on the examples of Paris and Moscow, the possibility of reviewing and updating the Cooperation Agreement of 2004 between the Paris Chamber of Commerce and the MCCI. The issues of residential construction, administrative barriers and the improvement of relevant legislation were touched upon as separate topics. The French colleagues expressed an active interest in exchanging experience on these and other current and relevant issues of urban development and management of our capitals.
