On March 24th, the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a meeting with the Chamber’s Vice President, Mr. Suren Vardanyan, with representatives of the Indonesian Council of People's Representatives (Parliament), headed by Mr. Faisol Riza. The event was a follow-up to the February 19th meeting between the Chamber’s President and the delegation from the Indonesian Embassy in Russia.
The Vice President of the MCCI, Mr. Vardanyan, noted that the MCCI is intently engaged on the development of foreign economic activity. As part of its work, the MCCI is developing a system of Country’s Commissions, among which, one of the most active, is the Commission of Indonesia, which has conducted more than one event in order to develop communications between Russian, Indonesian and other foreign companies.
"We have also sent a number of proposals to the Indonesian Chambers of Commerce and Industry dealing with energy savings, the ecological, environmental issues, and telecommunications," said the Vice President of the MCCI. Among other things, several years ago, the MCCI signed an agreement with the Jakarta Chamber of Commerce, which allows Moscow to plan and build work with a focus on concrete results. In this regard, the MCCI considers it fundamentally important to not only inform local companies about investment, legislative and trading legislative acts[ in the Republic of Indonesia, but also pays great attention to the creation of a coherent and reliable communications," said Mr. Vardanyan.
During the meeting, representatives of the Indonesian Parliament spoke about the high potential for cooperation between entrepreneurs from our countries. Also, during the official part, speeches were made by representatives of several different companies (including energy, environmental, etc.), during which, Moscow’s companies were introduced, their projects and wishes for potential partners from Indonesia were voiced. At the end of the official part, the Head of the Indonesian delegationannounced the willingness to cooperate with Moscow’s companies.
At the end of the first part of the event, Moscow entrepreneurs had an opportunity to hold direct negotiations with the representatives of the Indonesian Parliament. During the freely held talks, Moscow entrepreneurs had an opportunity to closely discuss options for potential cooperation and find potential partners, while Indonesian colleagues had an opportunity to hear about the opportunities and needs of the Moscow business.
