At the meeting, the Vice-President of the MCCI, Mr. Suren Vardanyan, noted that the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry actively pursues cooperation with Indonesian business. Last year, the Russian-Indonesian business forum was held in Moscow, during which a number of B2B negotiations took place and the main strategic directions of cooperation were outlined.
"Positioning of Indonesia on the territory of the Russian Federation is a good alternative with inexpensive, but high-quality service and can be interesting and beneficial for Russian tourists," Mr. Vardanyan stressed.
The representatives of the Indonesian delegation noted that so far, the main tourist destination for Russian tourists is Bali, but in Indonesia there are many other routes and destinations that may be of interest.
During the event, it was noted that, despite the fact that there has been some growth in trade turnover between our countries (in 2017 - 2018 it amounted to 4.61 billion dollars), so far these figures are fairly modest. Russia ranks 39th on the list of partner countries of Indonesia, but the Indonesian leadership is aiming to enhance economic cooperation, which may result in Russia rising to the 10th place on this list.
Therefore, Russian and Indonesian entrepreneurs have good prospects for the development of economic relations, including the fields of tourism and exhibition activities.
Having discussed the trends of tourism growth and exhibition activities as instruments of effective communication, the parties outlined a plan for further cooperation.
The event was attended by the President of the National Tourist Union, Mr. Roman Skoryi and Regional Director for Sales and Marketing of Azimuth Hotels LLC, Ms. Irina Rivkina.
The event was supported by the Moscow City Government and the Department of Economic Policy and Development of the city of Moscow.
