On February 20, 2024 the President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Vladimir Platonov, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau to the Russian Federation, Mr. Alfredo Cristovão Gomes Lopes.
Opening the meeting, the Head of the capital's Chamber emphasized that cooperation with friendly countries has recently become increasingly important. "We have a lot of interesting projects. Our main task is to help and create conditions for the development of Moscow’s and Russian entrepreneurship. We are a part of the world system of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and, therefore, we are happy to develop cooperation with entrepreneurs all over the world," said Mr. Platonov, speaking about the projects that the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry is implementing.
The President of the Moscow’s Chamber paid special attention to educational projects for foreign students of the Moscow’s universities "Start Your Business with Moscow". "We interact extensively with foreign partners and make sure that the ideas we have developed are of great interest: companies send students to Russia to study, who will become business representatives of their respective organizations,” - said Mr. Platonov. “After all, it is not easy to open a company's branch in another country, and providing a student may become a springboard for a lot of interesting projects". He emphasised that the Moscow CCI cooperates with embassies all over the world, which help establish relationships with their CCIs and entrepreneurs.
In his response, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau to the Russian Federation, Mr. Alfredo Cristovão Gomes Lopes, noted that the exchange of views and information on possible partnership in various areas is important for him. He said that Guinea-Bissau also has a Chamber of Commerce and Industry and expressed his wish to build cooperation with the MCCI.
"I am here to establish contacts, to organize cooperation, which is very important for Guinea-Bissau. Our country's Chamber of Commerce and Industry is developing international ties, and we are interested in strengthening cooperation with Russia, regardless of Western sanctions," Mr. Gomes Lopes Alfred Cristovau remarked He thanked Mr. Platonov for "such a friendly and pleasant meeting”.
The parties discussed possible areas of cooperation between the entrepreneurs of Moscow and the Republic of Guinea-Bissau.
