On the 31st of May, in Moscow, the MCCI signed an agreement with the Chamber of Commerce of Sharjah of the United Arab Emirates.
The signing was conducted during the business mission of the Emirate of Sharjah to Moscow and St.Petersburg. The delegation included the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce of the Sharjah, representatives of the governing administration, Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (SHUROOQ), and management executives of private and public companies.
The Emirate of Sharjah is one of the fastest growing regions of the United Arab Emirates. The government and the business community of the Emirate are interested in further development of trade, economic and investment collaboration with the Russian partners.
The agreement provides that the parties will contribute to the strengthening and expansion of such areas as economics, trade, scientific and technological affiliations, for enterprises and businessmen of Moscow and Sharjah . The agreement delineates the organization of business missions, consultations on engaging in foreign eterprises, mediation of and participation in exhibitions, conferences and other business-related events.
The Parties will provide assistance to enterprises in the fields of arbitration and quality control in the execution of international contracts.
On May 30, 2016, a conference "The Emirate of Sharjah: opportunities for investment, trade and economic cooperation between Russia and the UAE." took place. The aim of the event was to develop practical cooperation between the representatives of the Russian business community and the business sector of the emirate of Sharjah, as well as to inform the Russian businessmen about the possibilities for exports to the UAE market and prospects for investments’ cooperation.
