The Vice-President reminded that the MCCI sees its main orientation in supporting small and medium businesses, and promoting them both on regional and foreign markets.
In response, Mr. El Beshir Salem Val Beheem, the Advisor to the President of the Mauritanian Association of Graduates from Russia and Former Soviet Union, said that the main purpose of the visit was to strengthen mutually beneficial ties. "We want to initiate and intensify mutually beneficial ties between business communities of our countries. Your businessmen should see that it is possible to deal with the Mauritanians," said the Head of the delegation, expressing hope that business contracts with Russian business will be concluded soon. In particular, representatives of the Mauritanian delegation are interested in the construction of various port infrastructure facilities - breakwaters and facilities for processing technical lubricants.
The Vice-President of the MCCI requested that the interests of the Mauritanian side be explicitly stated and forwarded by an official letter. The MCCI will then be able to begin work to identify credible investors for a project.
Mr. Vardanyan expressed readiness for further discussion of the cooperation directions between the two Chambers and signing a partnership agreement later. "But this requires an appeal from your Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in which the interest in cooperation would be stated. In response we can send you information about our projects," explained the Vice President of the Chamber. It was also decided to start preparing a tripartite agreement between the MCCI, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Agriculture of Mauritania, the Mauritanian Alumni Association of Russia and the former USSR countries.
The parties agreed on the need to organize a Russian business mission to Mauritania.
