The MCCI delegation took part in the meeting of the Russian-Austrian Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation, hosted by the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Dmitry Kozak, in the venue of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The Deputy Chairman of the Government noted in his speech that the accumulated investments of the Russian Federation in the Austrian economy as of October 1, 2017, amounted to 23 billion euros. And he emphasized that since the introduction of the anti-Russian sanctions, none of the approximately 500 Austrian companies, operating in Russia, have left the Russian market.
A clear confirmation of the words of the Vice-Premier was a series of important economic agreements between the Russian and Austrian business community, signed following the meeting of the Commission.
Among them was the Memorandum of Intentions between the Austrian Association of Winemakers, the “Golutvinskaya Sloboda” group of companies and the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the organizational interaction for the preparation and development of the “Austrian Wines Ambassador Project” in Moscow, and the Konakovo District of the Tver Region.
This important and interesting project is conceptually prepared with the goal of consolidating partner organizations for international events is aimed at promoting Austrian wines in Russia and Russian wines in Austria.
Among its partners are the Austrian Embassy and trade mission in Russia, the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Austrian and Russian wineries associations and winemaking organizations.
Presented by the member of the Board of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Andrei Ogirenko, who heads the “Golutvinskaya Sloboda” company, is the concept that envisages the creation of a new platform (with open vinotheques) for the development of commercial projects in the wine trade, its representation, as well as a cultural and educational center on the territory of the “Golutvinskaya Sloboda” business park in Moscow and wine shops in the Tver region, which addresses the historical significance of "embassies" as humanitarian missions and the international trade diplomacy.
The President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Vladimir Platonov, who signed the document on behalf of the largest business association in the capital of Russia, said that “Austria is a traditional and stable partner of Moscow, and the development of ties with Austria are accorded high priority. The current signing of the Memorandum is an integral part of the program of joint events in the field of business development, successfully implemented by the city authorities and business community of Moscow, united by the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry”, Mr. Platonov emphasized. “And the participation of the MCCI in transactions between entrepreneurs of different countries allows the Chamber to effectively implement its mediative functions, allowing entrepreneurs to avoid many difficulties in the implementation of joint projects. This increases the level of mutual trust among business communities”, said the President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
