The delegation from the MCCI has taken part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The Governor of St. Petersburg, Mr. Georgy Poltavchenko, opening the Forum, reminded those present that his motto is "Creating an economy of trust", and stated that the organizers hope that SPIEF-2018 will provide a new notch in strengthening economic stability, the development of global economy, shoring up the validity of relations between the biggest players of world markets -- the participants and guests of the Forum.
On the first day of work, the President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Vladimir Platonov, and its Vice President, Mr. Suren Vardanyan, took part in the panel session "Betting on electronic commerce. The Winner Takes All ", moderated by the President of the Moscow School of Management " Skolkovo ", Mr. Andrei Sharonov. Among the participants of the session were the Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, Mr. Konstantin Noskov, State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Mr. Oleg Fomichev, President of the Association of Internet Trade Companies, Mr. Alexei Fyodorov, the General Director of Yandex – Market, Mr. Maxim Grishakov and the well-known top managers and e-commerce market experts from Russia and foreign countries.
Then the Heads of the MCCI took part in the regional advisory Forum of the B20 business group "The Future of Labor Markets". Among the speakers were the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, Mr. Maxim Topilin, President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Mr. Alexander Shokhin, leaders of associations of employers and largest companies from Western Europe.
At the Forum, the results of the business conference that took place on May 23, at the Moscow Chamber of Commerce during the “Days of Genoa in Moscow” were summed up. The negotiations between the delegation from the MCCI and the Mayor of Genoa, Mr. Marco Bucci, focused on the prospects of cooperation in such areas as hospitality industry, creation of a comfortable living environment and high-tech applications (taking into account the interaction between the techno-parks of our cities).
Mr. Platonov also held a series of working meetings and B2B negotiations with the EU Ambassador to Russia, Mr. Marcus Ederer, Special Adviser to the Prime Minister of Greece, Mr. Velanios Dimitrios, advisor to the Minister of Economy and Entrepreneurship of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Zvonimir Novak, heads of leading companies from Russia and abroad.
As the result of negotiations with the Rector of the Russian State Social University, Ms. Natalia Pochinok, an agreement was reached on the joint work of the MCCI and the RSSU on studying the pressing problems and urgent needs of the business community in terms of improving the taxation system. The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry is sure that the Chamber will be able to gather suggestions from businesses and, together with the scientific community and the University, contribute to the creation of a system of "tax literacy" for entrepreneurs - from representatives of micro-business to the largest corporations.
The participation of the MCCI in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum was conducted with the support of the Moscow Government and the Department for Economic Policy and Development of the city of Moscow.
