On the 14th of March, in the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a meeting of the Vice-president of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Suren Vardanyan, with the President of the CCI of Antalya, Mr. David Cetin, took place. The parties discussed the possibilities for cooperation in the fields of tourism, education, in industrial and agricultural sectors.
The Vice-president of the Moscow Chamber introduced a wide range of activities involving the MCCI, and emphasized its existing opportunities for conducting direct dialogues with the authorities of the capital. Notably, all normative acts are discussed at the site of the Moscow CCI. He also mentioned that the Moscow Chamber participates in the “Days of Moscow” in various countries, scheduling business programs of the visits for the Moscow Government and holding B2B meetings.
In addition, according to Mr. Vardanyan, the Moscow Chamber actively collaborates with the Government of Moscow on the issue of localization of foreign manufacturing. Mr. Vardanyan highlighted the activities of the countries’ commissions of the Chamber that are responsible for the promotion of Moscow companies in external markets and have a wide network of local contacts. The Vice-president of the Chamber stressed that membership in the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Russia is optional.
The President of the CCI of Antalya, Mr. David Cetin, assured Russian colleagues of the willingness to cooperate and promote dialogue, inviting a delegation from the Moscow Chamber in May 2017, to pay a business visit to Antalya. The trip will not only include visiting tourist spots, but industrial installations as well. He stressed that membership in the CCI network is mandatory - the Chamber of Antalya unites about 42 thousand members, with about 500 companies intent on cooperation with Russia.
There are a few Russian schools in the city with about 15 thousand Russian-speaking residents and that provides an additional impetus for especially close cooperation for the two Chambers. As a result of complications in political and economic circumstances and the economic crisis in Russia, the tourist business in Antalya lost millions of Russian tourists, but at this stage, especially after the recent visit of the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to Moscow, the original level of cooperation in all spheres is being restored ", - said Mr. Cetin.
The representatives of the Antalya CCI delegation suggested to discuss the prospects for organizing the training of Russian companies in the sphere of tourism - this kind of an agreement was signed by the CCI of Antalya, for example, in Iran, as well as consider the possibilities for training Turkish specialists in Moscow.
Mr. Cetin reminded the audience that 2019 has been declared the year of cultural reciprocity for Russia and Turkey, noting that the development of contacts is an opportunity to overcome the difficult juncture and to establish business and intercultural dialogues. The parties exchanged commemorative gifts.
