A business delegation from the People's Republic of China visited the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Mr. Vladislav Mishchenko, the Advisor to the Chamber’s President dealing with International Affairs, welcomed Chinese guests and spoke about the main directions of the Chamber's activities. "One of the priority areas of the Chamber's work is the establishment of mutually beneficial international relations with partners from different countries. We are supported by 48 country commissions, including the successful Commission on Foreign Economic Cooperation with partners from China.”
The speaker noted that at the end of the first half of the year, the trade turnover between Russia and China increased by 40%, compared to the same period of last year. At the same time, exports from China increased by 78%. According to Mr. Mishchenko, now is a very good time to enter new markets, which Russian and Chinese entrepreneurs use to establish new contacts.
The business delegation included representatives of companies producing and selling footwear. Currently, several shoe exhibitions are held in Moscow, in which Chinese manufacturers are active participants. During the meeting, it was noted that, for example, in the pre-sanctions’ period, it was very difficult for Asian companies to become exhibitors at EURO SHOES and CPM, as European and Western companies enjoyed priority.
Nowadays, due to the economic and political situation in the world, the conditions have changed and this gives Chinese manufacturers optimism and confidence in concluding favourable contracts for the supply of quality footwear to Russia. The representatives of the Chinese delegation highly appreciated the opportunity for direct contacts with both representatives of the Chamber's management and Russian businessmen.
Despite the fact that Russian companies did not directly participate in the meeting, Mr. Mishchenko assured the Chinese entrepreneurs that all their proposals will be studied by the MCCI and then sent to Moscow companies that may be interested in them.
At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged commemorative gifts.
