On April 7, the Moscow Chamber of Commerce, together with the company “Invest Hong Kong”, held a webinar on "Business development opportunities in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area in the New Reality". The event is aimed at Russian companies that are interested in creating trade projects, including e-commerce in Hong Kong.
The webinar also attracted entrepreneurs, interested in the post-pandemic business environment in Hong Kong, in the structuring of new business opportunities for those, working in financial markets and information technology.
In his opening speech, the Vice President of the MCCI, Mr. Suren Vardanyan, reminded that Hong Kong is a special zone, "involving distinctive issues, sometimes unusual for us, related to unexpected matters. Hong Kong represents a gateway for Russian companies to enter a big market.
At the same time, the "gateway" is very well adapted to the system of perception of business processes on a global scale. This is an incomplete list of services that the “Invest Hong Kong” offers. "The main activities in Hong Kong were and still are, are the foreign wholesale and retail trade, financial and banking business, professional, business, educational services and, of course, logistics," explained Mr. Orlov.
The webinar was aimed at Russian companies interested in the development of foreign trade projects, including e-commerce in Hong Kong, as well as everyone interested in the business environment in Hong Kong in the post-pandemic period, the contours of the new business reality. The webinar was no less interesting for those working in the financial markets, as well as in the field of information technology.
Dr. Jimmy Chan, the Deputy Director General of the “Invest Hong Kong”, gave a presentation on "Hong Kong in the New Reality: the situation, changes and prospects in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area for Russian companies.
He described how Hong Kong is doing economically in a pandemic. "The fundamental points are that our economy is very resilient, we are very resilient ourselves. We face very interesting opportunities around the world.
I am sure that once the pandemic is over, our economy will return to its former state very quickly. Hong Kong has experienced serious crises before, but every time we came back. This time will be no exception," Dr. Chan said with confidence.
Mr. Ivan Ivanov, the entrepreneur, founder and managing partner of the consulting company “Uvecon Hong Kong”, the co-founder of the “Digital Week Online”, a specialist in business development in Asia, talked about the specifics of retailing and importing products to Hong Kong. He mentioned retailing and e-commerce. He spoke about the peculiarities of importing goods to Hong Kong, their storage and logistics within the country, and the promotion of goods and advertising."All the presentations were extensive and comprehensive.
