On December 15 th, an online working meeting with compatriots abroad, took place, titled "Moscow: the potential for opportunities and preferences for business. The role of compatriots in the area developing business communications”.
The meeting was not randomly called “a work in progress session", the organizers wanted to discuss the issues of direct interaction and the involvement of compatriots in the business relationship between enterprises of Moscow and different countries and regions without the unnecessary “pomp and circumstance".
Mr. Sergey Cheryomin, the Minister of the Moscow City Government, Executive Officer of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow, in his opening speech, explained how difficult it is for the city to provide conditions for economic survival in the conditions of the lockdown, when the largest enterprises, stores, service centers and restaurants are closing.
"Without relying on any reserves (they are, as practice shows, are disappearing very quickly), it is necessary to develop a set of measures to support primarily small and medium businesses. The Moscow City Government has been quite successful with that in recent months," said Mr. Cheryomin. He accentuated that recent weeks show that Moscow has managed to preserve the economically stable solution, preventing the collapse of the medical system, while maintaining the high standards of medical care. Mr. Cheryomin noted that all these problems are discussed with the international community. There is an exchange of experience between the largest cities of the world.
Mr. Yuri Kaplun, the first Deputy Director of the Moscow House of Compatriots, was pleased to note that representatives from 36 countries, including businessmen and the Heads of Foundations and Coordinating Councils from many countries, are attending the conference.
To understand the directions and format of interaction that could really help Moscow enterprises to promote themselves in foreign markets and attract investors and companies interesting for the capital to Moscow - is the main task of such meetings, according to the Vice President of the MCCI, Mr. Suren Vardanyan. He spoke about the development of export for industrial products of Moscow, about the projects and activities, carried out and conducted by the MCCI in the current conditions on the international and interregional markets. Among them, are the MCCI country conferences, Customs ‘Consulting and Compliance Centers, the "Documents in Order" project, International Business Marketplace, International Employers' Club.
Mr. Vardanyan reminded that today, Moscow provides more than 14 types of subsidies to support small and medium - sized enterprises. He also mentioned what needs to be done: "There is a lack of reliable professionals, who know the specifics and mentality of markets. There is a need for understanding of product lines, which are relevant to the markets of various countries," - explained the Vice President. "We want to organize, with your help and support, a network of promotion for our companies in the markets of your countries and, accordingly, a network, involving reliable companies from your countries in Moscow’s projects", - concluded his speech the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Mikhail Drozdov, the partner of the "Window to China" group of companies, supported the thesis that one should cooperate with those, who have earned a good reputation and who are able to compete on equal terms with the best of local companies. He suggested to contribute information about the experience of companies that work internationally and are connected with our compatriots on the "Business Market" digital IT platform.
“Let us build a communication system of reliable business partners! Let us organize a process of reliable support in the markets of the countries, where you are present! Let us talk openly!” he urged the participants of the meeting and stressed that if there is no export credit chain, which exists in many countries, trying to penetrate the market, it is a futile endeavour. The markets are replete to the maximum. As it happens, currently, the city of Moscow deals with 182 countries.
