Mr.Vladimir Platonov, the President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and its Vice-President, Mr. Suren Vardanyan, took part in the official visit to Israel of Moscow delegation, headed by Mr.Sergei Cheryomin, the Minister of the Moscow City Government, Executive Officer of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow.
The program of the trip was extensive and very busy. Currently, Israel is now one of the countries with a weighted position in its relations with Russia; there is an active trade exchange between the two countries. The development of foreign economic partnership on all levels was the main topic of the economic Conference held by the Moscow government in Tel Aviv.
Mr. Platonov, in his speech to representatives of the Israeli business, described conditions, created for the development of entrepreneurship in the Russian capital and highlighted the possibilities of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry as the integral part of the eminently powerful World System of Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
"We brought with us proposals from hundreds of Moscow companies interested in cooperation with Israel. They were favourably received by potential Israeli partners, so I am sure that the rapprochement of our business communities will continue. The interest of businessmen in searching for new business opportunities overcomes any political obstacles,” - said the President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce after the Conference.
As part of the social and cultural program of the visit, the Moscow delegation paid an official visits to Sheikh Muaafak Tarif, the Supreme Spiritual Leader of the Druze in Israel, Patriarch Theophilus III of Jerusalem and Patriarch Nurkhan Manukian of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Jerusalem. Mr. Platonov and Mr. Vardanyan participated in a roundtable discussion on "Moscow - Israel. Dialogue of Faiths" in Kfar Yasif.
“Today, in Israel, whose ancient capital - Jerusalem - is a holy city of three religions, there is a constructive interfaith public dialogue that can serve as an example for many other countries in today's troubled world,” - stated Mr. Platonov, sharing his impressions of the held meetings.
«"The meetings with Israeli business circles showed the real interest of both sides in developing and implementation of joint projects that have potential both in Russia and Israel," commented on the results of the visit the Vice President of the MCCI, Mr Vardanyan. In his opinion, the technological cooperation and absence of language barrier allows counting on tangible progressive solutions, the use of which can be realised in other countries.
