On 6th of July the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a round table in improving the quality of services provided by customs representatives of the participants in foreign trade activities, organized by MCCI in cooperation with the Federal Customs Service of Russia.
Opening the meeting, Mr. Vladimir Platonov, President of the MCCI, told the audience that the MCCI has always provided services and consulting support to participants in foreign economic activities: "We want to continue this work, but make it more substantive. In the difficult milieu of business, the MCCI is ready to assist entrepreneurs and help them to overcome all the obstacles that arise in their way". The head of the Chamber emphasized the fact that MCCI work on the basis of the Moscow and Federal laws, which distinguishes it from a variety of public and commercial organizations that conduct training seminars". The representatives of Federal and regional authorities gladly come to us, in order to receive the most accurate and current information to be conveyed to entrepreneurs", - Vladimir Platonov said.
During the round table, a report was made by Mrs Elena Tolcheva, First Deputy Head of the commodity nomenclature of the Federal Customs Service of Russia. She elaborated on the problems of accelerating imports of complex technological equipment supplied as separate components in several product batches for an extended period of time. In addition, participants of the meeting spoke about the ways to minimize errors in importing and exporting of goods, which are difficult to classify in accordance with the Сommodity Nomenclature of Eurasian Economic Community. Reducing administrative barriers to confirm the country of origin of goods in conditions of their import restrictions, antidumping measures and preferential trade - was another important part of the report. Also, Elena Tolcheva talked about the ways to reduce tariffs on the import of certain product groups.
According to the participants, the meeting was very useful and productive. Similar events will be scheduled in MCCI regularly.
