On April 27, the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce (FRG) hosted the economic forum the "Opportunities for Russian-German cooperation in the fields of transition to digital technologies and industry of 4.0, healthcare economics and biotechnology". The moderators of the event were the Vice-President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Suren Vardanyan, and Chairman of the Committee of Eastern Europe for the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Mirko Novak.
With welcoming speeches, the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Hamburg, Mr. Tobias Bergmann, President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Vladimir Platonov, Consul-Genel of the Russian Federation in Hamburg, Mr. Boris Arkhipov, and the Director of the Northwestern branch of the German-Russian Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Christian Altmann, addressed the audience.
During the event, the parties discussed the anticipated bilateral cooperation between entrepreneurs of Moscow and Hamburg. Within the framework of the forum, the essential topics of cooperation between the two capitals were discussed, i.e. the investment potential for the transition to digital automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies of 4.0, and the prospects for enhancing and developing business in the areas of health and biotechnology.
The investment potentials of Moscow and Hamburg’s business communities were presented by the Deputy Head of the Department of Science, Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship of Moscow, Ms. Christina Volkonitzkaya. The investment priorities of the Russian capital were relegated to the narrative of the Director of the Urban Agency Management Service, Mr. Leonid Kostroma.
Within the framework of the session, devoted to the development of the investment potential of Moscow and Hamburg and the respective IT, the representatives of executive authorities and heads of major Moscow’s techno parks – the "Caliber", "Skolkovo" and "Technopolis of Moscow" took part. In the session on health issues, the residents of major medical clusters of Moscow and Hamburg shared encouraging solutions in this field.
The day before, a meeting was held at the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce between the President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Vladimir Platonov, and President of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Tobias Bergmann. The leaders shared project initiatives for developing cooperation between the Chambers and representatives of small and medium-sized businesses. On the eve of the forum, the members of the Moscow delegation took part in the meeting of the Eastern Europe Committee of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce.
At the end of the conference, businessmen from Moscow and Hamburg held B2B negotiations. The visit of the Moscow’s delegation included a tour of the site of the European free-electron X-ray laser – XFEL, and a visit to the flagship of the Hamburg’s Senate, the “Senator”.
