On November 17, a delegation from Hamadan Province (Islamic Republic of Iran,) headed by Mr. Reza Bahramlu, the Head of the Provincial Agricultural Organization, paid a business visit to the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The MCCI President, Mr. Vladimir Platonov, welcomed the guests from Iran and noted that cooperation between the entrepreneurs of our countries has recently intensified. "Most importantly, we need concrete data on what support the MCCI can provide to establish business contacts between Moscow businesses and entrepreneurs from your province.”
Mr. Nikolay Mashkov, the Chairman of the Commission for Foreign Economic Cooperation with Iranian Partners, noted that now, "A significant number of Russian entrepreneurs is ready to open their businesses in Iran. In turn, we, as the capital's Chamber of Commerce , are ready to provide Iranian entrepreneurs with the access to the Moscow’s market, which is, among other things, an ”entry point’to the Russian market
For his part, Mr. Reza Bahramlu, thanked for the warm welcome and noted that the region is interested in exporting vegetables (potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, garlic) to Russia
"Our province is the largest producer of garlic in the world said the Head of the delegation. Also, according to him, export of nuts (walnuts and almonds), dried fruits, grapes, canned vegetables and other products is feasible.” In addition, interest was expressed in growing vegetables on Russian soil with subsequent export to Iran.
Mr. Reza Bahramlu said that the province has problems with water supply, so they are prepared to organize the production of agricultural products, requiring significant irrigation on Russian land. As for imports from Russia, the Iranian guests identified the need for mixed fodder, corn, soybeans and red meat. Mr. Platonov said that Russia has vast experience in building irrigation systems that could help solve the problem of water shortage.
Mr. Vladislav Mishchenko, the Advisor to the President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry on International Affairs, noted that there is a need for the designated commodity items in Moscow. However, in order to reach network retail, it is necessary to receive a presentation or a commercial proposal in another configuration from the Iranian side in order to proceed with negotiations. "As for the supply of mixed fodder, it is necessary to understand the regulations of export of these products to Iran, the conditions of certification, etc.," - emphasized the advisor to the Head of the Chamber
At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged memorable souvenirs and agreed to continue the dialog in digital format.
