Discussion of cooperation between Moscow’s and Indian business circles in the field of textile industry was held on the platform of the MCCI.
"We are an integral part of the global system of the Chambers of Commerce and closely cooperate with our foreign colleagues, (i.e. entrepreneurs from India). I will be glad to hear your proposals for the development of our partnership," the MCCI’s President, Mr. Vladimir Platonov, opened the meeting with the above words for the delegation of the Indian Council for the Promotion of Clothing Exports.
In response, representatives from India presented their country's capabilities in the textile industry. India is one of the largest producers of cotton, silk, technical textiles, synthetic fabrics and viscose; and the largest producer of jute. Every state and province in India has its own textile production cluster. Separately, the rapid development of such an area as design was noted.
Moscow textile business representatives described the development of their business and the experience of business communication with India. Special attention was paid to the invitation of foreign colleagues to the jubilee of theFederal Trade Fair for goods and equipment for textile and light industry "Textillegprom", which will be held on September 19-22, 2023 at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre. Entrepreneurs from Moscow told about the increasing demand for new production facilities, about the great interest in the Indian market. And there is interest not only in production, but also in fabrics and components. The importance of quality control was particularly emphasized.
"You know that in market conditions the most important indicator for building relationships is not a political decision, but the quality and price of products. Today we have invited companies, which are interested in buying products, fabrics, involved in exhibition activities and active development of cooperation. Russia now pays a lot of attention toward modernizing and developing its own output, which includes the light industry. But on the basis of cooperation with colleagues from friendly countries, this process will become rapid," summed up Mr. Platonov.
