Mr. Vladimir Platonov, the President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, made a formal opening speech at the opening ceremony of the Forum. He noted that recently, the capital's Chamber has been very actively developing bilateral interaction with Indonesia. "During each of our series of meetings there are new and interesting proposals uncovered from both the business communities and the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry,” said Mr. Platonov.
He expressed readiness to listen to business proposals of entrepreneurs of the two countries in the future: "Contacts with entrepreneurs from all over the world are very useful and necessary. They are not interrupted and continue to improve". The President of the MCCI also suggested that the Indonesian Republic should organize sending its students to study in Moscow, recalling a similar experience in the Soviet Union.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, Mr. Jose Antonio Morato Tavares, in his response expressed his gratitude for the organization of the event and noted that he "will be glad to send Indonesian students for cooperation, because it will be an important measure for the development of bilateral business". The Ambassador emphasized that he sees great prospects in the development of bilateral cooperation between Russia and Indonesia in economic, tourism, investment and other areas.
Ms. Lyudmila Vorobyeva, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Indonesia and a number of neighboring countries, addressed the participants of the Business Forum with a video greeting: "Strong business ties have been established between our countries, which are a reliable basis for further stable development of trade and investment cooperation, which has great potential. Indonesia is one of the largest and most promising partners of Russia in Southeast Asia". The Ambassador noted that it is important to develop new areas of cooperation: information technology, energy, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, chemical industry and transportation infrastructure.
Mr. Alexander Svinin, the Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Indonesia, spoke about planned joint business events. "We are always happy to work not only with Russian companies that are considering entering the Indonesian market, but also with Indonesian companies that are interested in entering the Russian market. We are ready to help them: to find counter-parties in our country and support their entry into the Russian market,” Mr. Svinin assured the Forum’s participants.
Mr. Vladimir Polozkov, the Secretary General of the Russian Association for International Cooperation, emphasized in his speech: "Trade and economic ties are certainly important elements of bilateral relations between the countries, but common - law diplomacy also plays a big role. It includes politics, trade, economic, business and humanitarian ties”.

Mr. Andrey Dorokhin, the Head of the Department of Foreign Trade Analytics and Relations with International Organizations of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow, noted in his speech that Moscow is ready "to share its urban solutions with colleagues from Indonesia." "For the Jakarta City Hall and the formation of a new capital city, we can offer elements of urban traffic management. This affords the control of both traffic and passenger flow, the movement of citizens and employees of large enterprises. We can assist with issues of geological exploration, mining of certain minerals, the supply of large equipment, control of common spaces, the supply of equipment and proposals for IT solutions and technologies," explained Mr. Dorokhin.
Mr. Mikhail Kuritsyn, the Head of the Russia-Indonesia Business Council, spoke about the opportunities for cooperation that the Business Council sees between Moscow and Jakarta.
