The work schedule of the delegation, headed by Mr.Vladimir Platonov, the Chairman of the MCCI, remains extremely tight.
On November 22, the MCCI delegation, accompanied by Mr. Alexey Busev, the Chairman of the MCCI Commission for the UAE, visited the Chamber of Commerce of Sharjah, where a meeting with the members of the Chamber’s leadership, headed by its Chairman, Mr Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, was held.
This visit was a continuation of the relationship between the two Chambers (in September of this year, a delegation from the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce visited Moscow on a business mission and held talks with companies from the capital), during which further details of cooperation were discussed. The parties also discussed the inclusion of Moscow in the final list of candidates for the right to host the World Expo 2030. Moreover, Moscow guests presented to their colleagues proposals of the companies - representatives of the industrial complex, high technology, healthcare etc., included in the MCCI catalog prepared specially for their visit to the UAE.
The visitors showed interest in the offers and in turn, introduced the Sharjah companies to the guests, including the participants in the exhibition held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Mr. Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, who is also the Co-Chairman of the Russian-Emirati Business Council (REBC), supported the preparation of the meetings of the business missions and expressed readiness to help establish contacts between the businessmen of Moscow and Sharjah.
On the same day, MCCI delegation visited the Russian Food House in Dubai and had a tour around the exposition presented there and held a meeting with its management in order to find out the most demanded areas of agricultural processing in the UAE market and in the markets of the Persian Gulf countries in general, as well as in the African markets.
The scope of the the MCCI’s visit included holding negotiations with Russian companies, working in the UAE, where participants shared their experience and problems, particularly in the field of logistics and certification. As the Vice-President of the MCCI, Mr. Suren Vardanyan, indicated that after considering the results of the negotiations, it is planned to formulate proposals to improve support measures for Russian exporters, working in the UAE market.
In addition, the delegation met with UAE companies at the Russian Food House, which, according to Mr. Vardanyan, "expressed interest in the products of the agricultural sector, requiring a high degree of processing, as well as technologies in the field of artificial intelligence".
Starting on November 23, the MCCI delegation, which includes representatives of a number of other Russian CCIs, headed by Mr. Sergey Katyrin, takes part in the 12th World Congress of Chambers of Commerce in Dubai, which this year gathers more than 100 delegations from different countries.
At its meetings, the discussions mainly touch upon matters involving further development of Chambers of Commerce and Industry under the present conditions of new technological developments, changes in the relationship within the system of communications between business and government. Mr. Platonov met with the Heads of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Nigeria, Kuwait, India, Monaco and other countries, taking part in the forum, within the framework of the Congress. At those meetings, the delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry presented the directions in which Moscow is ready to move to foreign markets and to cooperate with partners.
The Congress included a separate presentation of digital projects of Chambers: the UK, Germany, Peru and Chile, vying for recognition (recall that in 2019 at the WTPF one of the best digital projects of the world’s CCI systems was recognized for the electronic platform of diverse business offerings, the "Business Market", developed at the MCCI).
The opening ceremony of the office of the Honorary Representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation in the Middle East was held on November 23. During this ceremony, a regional presentation was held where Mr. Platonov invited businessmen to invest in Moscow, having demonstrated the possibilities of the MCCI and the prospects of the city development.
