On September 9, in a multifunctional complex "Hanoi-Moscow", a business conference on promoting the city of Hanoi's investment, trade and tourism in the Russian Federation took place.
The organizers of the business conference were the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia, People's Committee of Hanoi, Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Association of the Vietnamese businessmen in Russia.
Speaking at the business conference, the Vice-President of the MCCI, Mr. Suren Vardanyan, noted that Moscow is accumulating a huge economic potential. Today, Moscow has become a leader in developing innovation - here are the largest industrial parks that allow innovation-oriented companies to do business on favorable terms. Moscow's level of personnel capacity requirement and educational potential are very high, its vocational training programs are rapidly gaining momentum.
Russian companies in the fields of construction, IT-technologies, tourism, medicine are interested in entering the Vietnamese market. Mr. Vardanyan invited Vietnamese companies to participate in construction of economy class hotels in Moscow, which is particularly relevent in anticipation of the World Cup.
The Vietnam Trade Attache in Russia, Mr. Dương Văn Minh, noted that for Vietnamese economy it is crucial, starting on October 5, 2016, to become a part of the Eurasian Economic Union and a free trade zone. The country expects a significant reduction in import customs duties, with some rates being set to zero. Mr. Minh said that Vietnam hopes to strengthen industrial cooperation and to increase the goods' turnover in 2020 to the level of 10 billion U.S. Vietnam is prepared to export textile, furniture, food, seafood. In addition, Russia may consider Vietnam as a platform for entering the markets of ASEAN and Asia-Pacific region countries.
The Plenipotentiary of the People's Committee of Hanoi, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Center for promotion of investment, trade and tourism, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tu, also said that Vietnam is highly integrated into the economies of the Asia-Pacific region, especially in the fields of banking, transportation and trade. Active Internet commerce is being developed: there are about 4 500 sites, more than 200 sites have been created for effecting the implementation of trading exchanges; the business of franchising is dynamically expanding.
In order to enhance and improve the effectiveness of cooperation, Mr. Vardanyan suggested creating an annual plan of specific business meetings for B2B negotiations.
