On August 25, the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a meeting of the Vice President of the Chamber, Mr. Suren Vardanian with the delegation of Iran, headed by Mr. Alireza Jafari, the Director of the Representative Office of the Iranian Chamber of Cooperatives.
The meeting was also attended by Mr. Sergey Kurbatov, the Director of the Business Club of the Assembly of the Peoples of Eurasia.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Vardanyan drew attention to the fact that today, security issues are brought to the forefront in all countries. He stressed that the MCCI attaches considerable importance to cooperation with Iran. "We are interested in having a strong partner in Iran, with a transparent and clear interaction, we welcome customary business negotiation, since, in fact, any system of Chambers consists of intermediaries.
And any network of associations is also composed of intermediaries. But these are the intermediaries, who organize a reliable, legal support and cooperation of companies," reminded the Vice-President of the MCCI. He noted that he expects that Mr. Jafari, together with the Assembly of Eurasian Nations will help "to build a bridge, which will allow our companies to find reliable partners in Iran. And for the Iranian side, - to find them in Russia.”
Mr. Jafari gave a detailed presentation of opportunities for reciprocal association between the two countries. He also spoke about the need to restructure the view of Iranian business in regards to the perception of global dynamics. The Iranian entrepreneurs have been under the U.S. sanctions for years and are poorly versed in the anatomy of the business world. The Director of the Representative Office of the Iranian Chamber of Cooperatives also noted that the Iranian market may be of interest for entrepreneurs, who are engaged in the development of technology in the field of security, police equipment and other similar resources.
"We are prepared to organize meetings with high-ranking representatives of the Iranian police and organize a pavilion at the Eurasia International Specialized Exhibition as well. In addition, as part of our cooperation with the local Security Equipment Exhibition, we are even ready to make a kind of a barter with pavilions or premises," Mr. Jafari said. Also, as the President of the Organizing Committee of the Exhibition of the EAEU “Eurasia”, he offered to hold it in Moscow in the near future.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Vardanyan reminded that the MCCI and the Assembly of Eurasian Nations work in close contact and invited the Iranian side for a substantive discussion of specific projects.
The event was held with the support of the Moscow Government and the Department of Economic Policy and Development of Moscow.
