A delegation from the Henan Province (PRC) visited the MCCI
Henan is a province in the east-central China with a population of nearly 100 million and a GDP of about $1 billion.
Me. Lyidia Lukashenko, the Head of the International Cooperation Department of the MCCI, told the guests about the history of the MCCI and noted that the main task of the Chamber is to support the Moscow business.
"People's Republic of China is a strategic and key partner of our country. The Russian trade turnover with the PRC in 2022 increased by 29.3% - and amounted to $190.27 billion U.S. These figures are record-breaking", - said the representative of the MCCI. She emphasized that the Commission for Foreign Economic Cooperation with Partners in the PRC, which supports entrepreneurs in establishing business contacts with Chinese companies, has been created and is actively working on the platform of the Chamber.
Mr. Fei Quanfa, the Head of the Chinese delegation and representative of the Ministry of Commerce of the Henan Province, said that six companies representing the Province are taking part in Russia's main industrial exhibition - INNOPROM, which is currently taking place in Yekaterinburg. The speaker said that the Henan Province is one of the most populated territories in China and has a developed resource potential.
The core industries of this region are agriculture, metallurgy and chemical industry. Textile (cotton) and food (mainly flour and oil milling) industries are also developed. Toys, clothes and footwear are being manufactured. Petroleum, coal and natural gas are extracted, while Henan's subsoil is rich in molybdenum and aluminum.
The Head of the Chinese delegation noted that the region's entrepreneurs are interested in developing economic ties with Russian and Moscow’s businessmen: now imports from Russia exceed exports from China by 10 times. Mr. Fei Quanfa invited a delegation of Moscow’s businessmen to visit Henan with a return visit.
At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged memorable souvenirs.
