On July 12, thePresident of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Vladimir Platonov, met with a business delegation from the Jiangxi Province (People's Republic of China), headed by Mr. Dou Liantan, the Deputy Mayor of the People's Government of Ganzhou City (Jiangxi Province).
Opening the event, Mr. Platonov emphasized the recently increased business activity of entrepreneurs: «Now we observe a significant revival of business contacts between Moscow and China - delegations arrive, entire regions of the People's Republic of China address us, and we are happy to organize meetings with representatives of the business community of the Russian capital.»
Mr. Platonov spoke about promising developments that Moscow entrepreneurs have. In particular, the talk was about digital economy, restoration of monuments, creation of new tourist routes. During the meeting, the President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry emphasized the importance of business acquaintances, informational exchange and the establishment of strong ties between entrepreneurs of the two countries: «I see our main task as being in creating favourable conditions for Russian entrepreneurs, so they can comfortably cooperate with our Chinese friends».
Mr. Gao Qi, the representative of the CCPIT (China Council for the Promotion of International Trade) in Russia, spoke about the production of new materials, energy, electronic information carriers, development of industry, agriculture and tourism in the Jiangxi Province. Mr. Dou Liantan, the Deputy Mayor of the People's Government of Ganzhou City, made a presentation of his city’s: "Invest in Ganzhou". The city has developed dyeing, weaving, woodworking, and tourism industries, and Ganzhou is also known as the "tungsten capital of the world". This opens up excellent opportunities for cooperation between Russian and Chinese companies.
Russian entrepreneurs may also be interested in the agricultural sector of the Jiangxi Province, especially in such areas as rice and citrus cultivation and livestock farming. Other promising areas include food processing, logistics, intellectual property and legal support.
The participants of the meeting declared their readiness to promote the strengthening of economic, trade and the exchange of know-how collaboration. The parties expressed confidence in the possibility of mutually increasing trade and investment flows.
