The third and final day of the SPIEF’18, the delegation from the MCCI began its work with a visit to the Moscow stand to conduct B2B negotiations.
Based on the results of the business meeting during the Forum between the President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Vladimir Platonov, the Vice President of the Chamber, Mr. Suren Vardanyan, and the Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Russian Federation, Mr. Pankaddem Sarai, Consul General of RI in St. Petersburg, Mr. Deepak Miglani, and representatives of the Indian business community, with the assistance of the Head of the Department for Foreign Economic and International Relations of the city of Moscow, Mr. Sergei Cheryomin, an agreement was reached on cooperation with the largest Indian pharmaceutical company, Dr. Reddy's. Negotiations will be continued in Moscow.
In addition, at the Forum discussed were the possibilities and areas for cooperation between the scientific, technical and business communities of Moscow with the business community of the Komi Republic. Issues of introduction of modern technological solutions to industrial projects of the Republic and the development of cooperation of business communities of the regions were examined.
As part of the business program, the MCCI delegation visited the panel session "The Latest History of the Blockchain. How public administration and business are changing." The technology of the blockchain today is one of the most promising areas of digitalization of the economy, and the recent creation of the MCCI Guild of Digital Economy and Blockchain Technology, has opened up new opportunities for the Moscow business community in this area. The moderator of the panel discussion was Mr. Max Hauser, Partner, Managing Director of The Boston Consulting Group.
The special features of blockchain use in various fields of economy and finance were discussed by the President of the Russian Association of Crypto-Currency and Blockchain, Mr. Yuri Pripachkin, First Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, Ms. Olga Skorobogatova, Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Economic Policy, Industry, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship, Mr. Sergey Zhigarev, and leading foreign experts. The experience of the Moscow authorities in introducing blockchain to the city economy and transport was presented by the Director of the SUE "Mosgortransproekt", Mr. Alexander Polyakov.
The Moscow delegation was also engaged during the panel session "Business Reputation. When an honest word is not enough." Promoting the importance of business reputation and its application as a criterion for the reliability of companies has been one of the priorities of the MCCI for several years. Therefore, the study of the opinions of sociologists, political scientists, media managers, as far as the formation of the institution of business reputation, voiced during the discussion, became a successful conclusion to the program for the delegation of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum - 2018.
