In the course of the International Tourism Exhibition “Intourmarket", held in Moscow, meetings were held between the Head of the Regional Department for the Development of Tourism and Resort Activities of the Altai region, Mr. Evgeny Deshiovyh and representatives of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, during which the parties discussed various aspects of joint activities of the two regions in the field of tourism.
During the meeting with representatives of the National Tourism Union, a cooperation and partnership agreement was signed. The parties agreed to work out a joint strategy of tourism development in the Altai region and its positioning on both domestic and foreign tourism markets.
It is also planned to implement investment projects and develop public-private partnerships in the industry. The document was signed by the President of the National Tourism Union, Mr. Roman Skoryi and Head of the Regional Department of Tourism and Resort Development of Altai Krai (Territory), Mr. Deshiovyh. The signing of the agreement consolidated the agreements that were reached between the parties in January, 2020, during the business mission of the capital's entrepreneurs to the Altai Territory, organized by the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The meeting with the representatives of the MCCI Committee on the Development of Sustainable Transport Systems was devoted to enhancing automobile tourism. "We like the Altai Territory. We have already already established a stable and secure positioning here and provided a lot of appealing attractions. We believe that Russian motorists, 2 million of whom pass through the Altai Krai and the Republic of Altai, is an insufficient flow.
The task is to increase their number by several times, which includes participation of foreign automobile tourists. At the same time, it is necessary to make sure that they do not simply pass through, and stop for a few days, get acquainted with the sights, have the opportunity to rest and enjoy the requisite conditions that have been created for this" - said the Chairman of the Committee, the President of the National Association of Automotourism, Mr. Sergei Lobarev. The parties agreed to hold a special tour to the region, which will study the roadside infrastructure, will conduct a thorough assessment of its conditions for further classification and comfort for motor travellers.
In addition, Mr. Deshiovyh met with representatives of a number of companies - members of the MCCI. Specific agreements were reached on the development of joint projects between representatives of the two regions. In particular, metropolitan specialists will help their Altai colleagues to overcome one of the main problems of the region - the seasonality of tourist flows.
According to the general opinion of the parties, in the current situation, the structure of the tourist market will change significantly. In particular, a serious reorientation of mass tourism towards domestic, Russian market is expected. And success will be achieved by those, who will be able to adapt to the new realities in time. “Today, the tourist market has "zeroed". There is a struggle for a client "from a clean slate". And success will be achieved by those, who can more effectively attract guests now, when tourists begin to choose where to go, in the new conditions, in a new market" - said the Executive Director of “Festival, LLC” (the company is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry), Mr. Igor Afonin.
