Those, who want to be in demand in the labor market, must have not only their specialization, but also many other current competencies. This information was imparted by Mr.Vladislav Kiselyov, the Advisor to the President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, during the webinar "Practice and Employment of Students and Alumni: Challenges of the Time”, organized by the All-Russian Association of Career Centers. It was attended by about two hundred representatives of leading universities from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and a number of other countries.
Mr. Kiselyov described the results of the survey of the MCCI public structures: how they perceive the current and future situation in their fields of activity, and how it may affect the labor market, including the needs of business, searching for particular specialists. Separately, representatives of the guilds gave recommendations on employment in various fields for young specialists.
The number of remote vacancies in Russia has recently increased by 71%. Distanced work is offered in the areas of information technology, systems integration, the Internet, educational institutions, services for business, media, marketing, advertising, PR, design, production, retail and finance. The largest number of vacancies with remote jobs are in education (74%), sales (14%), and 6% each are published in HR and marketing. Most often, programmers and developers, database and technical support administrators, specialists in digital marketing, call center operators, online sales and customer service managers, as well as teachers and online tutors work remotely.
The general business opinion is that today, successful job seekers need to be multifunctional. For example, if earlier a designer could make some conditional sketch, and "on fingers" explain the rest at a personal meeting with a client, now he should present a thoroughly developed 3D-model of a project. Accordingly, besides knowledge in the speciality, a designer should devote maximum efforts to studying designing programs and online platforms. Besides, in the more and more condensed labour market it is necessary to possess the ability to market oneself, accentuate one’s expertise and knowledge. It is important to know how to present one’s projects, the psychology of a profession, as well as the skills involved in communicating with people.
A number of MCCI public associations already see changes in consumer preferences of Muscovites. For example, according to the Committee for Support and Development of Bread-Making, the demand for frozen bread, which can be stored for a long time, has grown very substantially. As a result, many bakeries are now buying new equipment and, accordingly, engineers and production technologists are in demand.
In the field of landscape design, according to the relevant guild, in the near future there will be demand for designers, architects, design engineers, economists, planners, biologists, specialists in online education.
Opinions of a number of other guilds on the current situation and development prospects in their fields were also touched upon.
In the course of his speech, Mr. Kiselyov presented to the representatives of higher educational institutions the ready training program for a new specialty - "Manager for Digital Business Transformation”, developed by the Guild of Digital Economy and Block-Check Technology at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. "The Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry has ready-made programs for advanced training courses and professional retraining. It is only necessary to adapt them for each particular university, and they can be already launched this summer," he said.
The webinar participants discussed employment and internship issues for students and graduates in the current situation. In particular, new modern technical means, such as "digital career environment", were presented.
The Executive Director of the International Employers' Club, Ms. Natalia Neporada, also spoke at the event. She told about the activities of the Club, one of the founders of which is the MCCI.
