On March 19, Mr. Vladimir Platonov, the President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, met with Mr. Muhammad Shaukat Hayat, the Minister of Trade Affairs of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the Russian Federation.
"We are creating a system of international cooperation with many countries, relying on many years of very close ties within the world system of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry. But it is possible to organize this work efficiently only with the help of foreign embassies and trade representatives. Therefore, we are extremely grateful to you for your support in establishing cooperation between the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Pakistan," said Mr. Platonov, the President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, opening the meeting.
"We already have reliable and productive contacts in the trade environment and I hope that today's meeting will help expand these," replied Mr. Muhammad Shaukat Hayat, the Minister of Trade Affairs of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the Russian Federation. He added that Pakistan today can offer Russian businessmen many goods, such as light industry products, textiles, sporting goods, tools, medical equipment and food products. "We would like to discuss new areas of cooperation that are feasible to be implemented now. We already import a lot of goods from Russia: fertilisers, oil refining products and petroleum itself.
And we are ready to start supplying medical products and spare parts," the Minister added. He emphasized that Pakistan is also ready to supply fish and seafood, fruits and vegetables to Russia. “I am determined to conduct and monitor work very closely. The Minister of Trade Affairs of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is confident that Turkey can contribute to enhancing the development of trade between the two countries.”
The Head of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry assured that there are ample opportunities to provide entrepreneurs with the necessary informational support and then help in the acquisition of goods. And the MCCI platform is an excellent venue for discussing opportunities to promote business contacts.
Mr. Vladislav Mishchenko, the Director of the Department of External Economic Relations and International Cooperation of the MCCI, spoke about the positive experience of the MCCI in creating conditions for business. He noted the strengths of Moscow’s business in terms of foreign economic cooperation, accenting high-technology and IT, and stressed that Moscow is one of the top three capitals of the world in terms of digitalization and innovative approach for providing urban amenities. "I would like to take this opportunity to introduce our Conference on import and export of medical products, which will be held at the end of March. We would like to invite you to attend in order to familiarize our importers with the pharmaceutical industry of Pakistan," concluded the Director of the Department of Foreign Economic Relations and International Cooperation of the MCCI.
The parties agreed to proceed developing cooperation to include joint events, business missions, and negotiations between potential partners.
