A delegation from the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Republic of Turkey) paid a business visit to the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
"Our Chambers have long-standing and close ties; this is not the first visit of your delegation to Moscow, we also visited Antalya with a business visit and last year we signed an agreement on cooperation between our Chambers", - said, opening the meeting, the President of the Moscow Chamber, Mr. Vladimir Platonov.
Mr. Bogacan Goksu, the Vice President of the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, noted that Turkey is interested in further development of business relations. "Our Chamber is one of the oldest and largest in Turkey - there are more than 63 thousand companies that constitute its members," he emphasized. The main areas of business activity are contained in the sphere of tourism (including health tourism) and agriculture. However, an industrial zone is already operating in the territory, which accommodates various industries, such as furniture and building materials, shipbuilding (pleasure yachts) and ship repair, textiles and food industries. Mr. Bogacan Goksu said that Antalya will host a major agricultural and nurseries’ exhibition called “Growtech” in November. "It would be good for the MCCI to either take part in this event or visit it as a guest," the Antalya Chamber’s Vice President said.
“Now, the conditions for conducting business between our countries are very favorable: there exist direct flights between our countries and the available ease of money movement,” Mr. Vladislav Mishchenko, the Director of the Department of Foreign Economic Relations and International Cooperation of the MCCI, said in his speech. He noted the high potential for developing fruitful economic relations, especially in the field of tourism. He also noted that some time ago, the MCCI held a business mission to Dubai, which was organized for the largest representatives of the Russian business developers and suggested considering the possibility of holding a similar trip to Antalya. He named "smart city" technologies as another promising area of interaction. "Moscow is among the TOP-3 cities in the world in terms of digital technology development. We have something to share," Mr. Mishchenko said.
Mr. Platonov told the Turkish guests about another unique project of the Chamber, which will start immediately - the School of the Young Entrepreneur "Start Your Business with Moscow", which the MCCI conducts with the support of the Committee for Public Relations and Youth Policy of the capital. "More than a hundred foreign students will be able to get basic knowledge on doing business in our city and country on the platform of the MCCI", - said Mr. Platonov. This information was very interesting for the Turkish delegation: according to Mr. Goksu, it is very useful, when students get the necessary knowledge about the dynamics of the country, in which they study and about the peculiarities of doing business.
The parties agreed to continue developing cooperation, including joint events, business missions, negotiations between potential partners, etc. At the end of the meeting, commemorative souvenirs were exchanged.
The event was supported by the Moscow City Government and the Department of Economic Policy and Development of the City of Moscow
