The Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry was visited by a delegation from Alanya, which included representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and entrepreneurs from the region.
"I am glad to welcome you to the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry. For us, your visit is a very significant and pleasant event, which is cognisant of our longstanding partnership with the business community of Turkey,” - so welcomed the guests Mr. Vladimir Platonov, the President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry. “Recently we have experienced a lot of difficulties because of artificially created obstacles for foreign economic relations of Russian enterprises.
I am sure that life will put everything in its perspective and we will get the statistics of who was more affected by the sanctions. We are grateful to Turkey and its authorities, who have created conditions for the political situation not to affect the existing economic relations with our country and the continuing cooperation of entrepreneurs.”
"Alanya is a large city with people of diverse nationalities, including many Russian citizens, - stressed in his welcoming speech the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Alanya, Mr. Eray Erdem. “Last year 5 million 200 thousand Russians visited Turkey, and almost 50% of them Alanya. The main activities of this region are tourism, hospitality industry and agro-industry. Over forty kinds of tropical fruits, including mangoes, bananas, avocados and strawberries are grown here. The main purpose for the visit of the Head of the Chamber of Commerce of Alanya was aimed at furthering the development of mutually beneficial relations between businessmen from Turkey and Russia.”
The Chairman of the MCCI’s Commission on Foreign Economic Cooperation with partners in Turkey, the President of the corporation "Caesar Club”, Mr. Sergey Abramov, emphasized that tourism is the most important component that unites our two countries. "Tourist flow from Russia to Turkey, since the beginning of the year, has increased by more than 2.5 times: 279 thousand visas were issued to Russians in 2023". Mr. Abramov said that last year, during a meeting at the Turkish Embassy, it was estimated that in case of relaxation of visa regime for Turkish tourists, the flow of travellers may grow by 2.5 times.
According to the speaker, the MCCI addressed a letter to the RF Government and on March 5 it was decided to simplify significantly the stay of guests from Turkey for tourist purposes: they may stay in Russia for up to 6 months without a visa, provided that they have booked a hotel. "I am sure that relations between business circles of our countries will develop to an ever greater degree, thanks to the efforts of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry," said Mr. Abramov.
The Turkish delegation included companies, working in the spheres of tourism, hospitality industry, construction, operation and rental of all types of real estate, logistics, sales of textiles and leather products. The Russian side was represented by the businesses with similar spheres of interest. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers from the two regions - Kaliningrad and Rostov. “I fell in love with Alanya ten years ago," said Ms. Karina Shatvoryan, the Head of the representative office of the Rostov region of the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Russia. “It has the longest bathing season, historical monuments, high-quality agricultural products at affordable prices. Alanya is a city with great potential".
After the conclusion of the official part, B2B negotiations between Russian and Turkish companies took place, during which discussed were joint ways of cooperation.
