On May 24, the Moscow Chamber of Commerce held a meeting with a delegation from Malaysia.
The guests were welcomed by Mr. Vladimir Platonov, the President of the MCCI: "We are colleagues; we are joined by the businesses that we are engaged in. Currently, we are involved in the market economy’s sector. It happens to be the most vigorous, effective and energetic part of economy, which has to adapt quickly to all emerging situations in our countries. Mr. Platonov also recalled that, from 1993 until 2019, he worked in the Moscow Duma (Parliament), which passed the applicable laws needed by the business community. And now, the MCCI is carefully studying experiences of entrepreneurs conducting business on international level: "We have the widest and most through connections, because the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry offers access to interaction with Chambers of Commerce all over the world.
In response, the Executive Director of the Advisory Council of Islamic Organizations of Malaysia - MAPIM, Mr. Ahmed Sani Bin Abdul Alim Arabi, thanked the organizers of the meeting, and said that the purpose of the visit of the Malaysian delegation is to initiate the cooperation between the two countries: "I personally asked our Minister in Malaysia regarding this issue; we have talked to the Russian Ambassador in Kuala Lumpur, Mr. Latypov, concerning our young entrepreneurs. We also have new opportunities for cooperation, of which we should certainly make the maximum use.
The Director of the Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organisation Council said that the organization often holds meetings with the participation of entrepreneurs from Kazakhstan and Turkey. This has already became a tradition. "There is a desire to establish similar relations between Malaysia and Russia. We would like to further develop trade relations with your country," added Mr. Ahmed Sani Bin Abdul Alim Arabi. He said that such areas of joint business as the import of halal products and fertilisers from Russia are most interesting and offered to form a delegation of about 50 companies, which could come with a business visit to Malaysia. Mr. Abdul Alim Arabi promised to demonstrate all the opportunities that exist in the economy of his country, and expressed the hope that directly, in the framework of this visit, can be moved directly toward business decisions by signing relevant agreements and memoranda. Malaysian entrepreneurs are also ready to visit Russia with a return business visit.”
"We need specific information about what you are interested in, what sectors of Russian business should come and participate in the negotiations," - responded Mr. Platonov. The representatives of Malaysia said that the talk could be about the halal industry, not only in the form of specific products, but also about halal logistics, the manufacture of halal medicines, and various equipment used in the halal industry.
At the end of the meeting, the President of the MCCI said: "We have every reason to develop our cooperation further - we have met, talked, it is a good start. May the wind be at our backs!”
Then the participants exchanged commemorative gifts.
