Business breakfast presents investment opportunities in Kazakhstan

On April 24, in the information center of the Moscow City Government, a business breakfast "Kazakhstan: investment climate and opportunities for localization of production for the business of the EEU" was held. It was organized by the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry together with the Embassy and Trade Mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Russia.
The business breakfast was a setting for an open dialogue between representatives of the authorities of the two countries and business leaders, focused on the development of exports, investments and joint ventures in Kazakhstan.
Mr. Vladimir Platonov, the President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, made an opening statement. He recalled that the relationship between Russia and Kazakhstan is "very extensive and diverse, and enjoys a prominent
status.“ Our countries face common challenges - diversification of the economy, introduction of innovative technologies, attraction of foreign investments.
The same applies to the interaction between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Moscow and Astana. "As the Head of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the largest association of Moscow businessmen, I would like to note that we have been successfully cooperating for a long time.
Several years ago, the reform of the Chambers of Commerce and industry took place in Kazakhstan. The National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, “Atameken", was created. Our mutually beneficial business cooperation with colleagues from the Chamber of Entrepreneurs continues on a new basis, and the interaction between the business community of Kazakhstan and the Moscow region is constantly expanding," said Mr. Platonov.
In turn, the Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Russian Federation, Mr. Nurzhan Kadzhiakbarov, noted the positive dynamics of growth in trade turnover, investment attraction and overall economic development. In 2018 alone, Kazakhstan's foreign trade increased by 20%.
Mr. Kadzhiakbarov highlighted the fact that the Government of Kazakhstan pays special attention to creating the most favourable conditions for attracting investment and strengthening the protection of investors' rights. As the result of this work, Kazakhstan annually attracts more than $20 billion of foreign investment, of which more than $18 billion comes from the Russian Federation.
"More than $10 billion is invested in the extractive industry and more than $3 billion in manufacturing," said Mr. Dmitry Rodin, the Head of AdvantageKazakhstan.
"We invite everybody to cooperate and we believe that in any collaboration there is always an opportunity to find a mutually beneficial solution” - summed up the meeting the Vice-President of the MCCI, Mr. Vardanyan.
