Riad Haddad thanked the Russian Federation for the persistent search for peace in the country.
"I believe that the crisis in Syria is not regional, it is worldwide. Now the fate of the existing world order is to be solved. Diplomats from Russia and several other countries have managed to defend a reasonable position on the legal settlement of the situation in our country. The negotiations held at the United Nations confirm this fact. Terrorists need to be displayed, and the Syrian people should breathe easy and start reviving their country".
Khayan Salman also noted the crucial role of Russia on a diplomatic solution to the existing problems , and expressed gratitude for the assistance.
"Our delegation came to you today to discuss trade relations between our two countries. Syria can export all kinds of vegetables and citrus fruits, food, olive oil, fabrics, textiles, clothing, phosphates and petroleum products. On the other hand, there is a large volume of items which are necessary in our country. We will be happy if we can make public procurement in Russia and strengthen trade and economic relations between business circles".
The representative of the Union of Syrian exporters Bassel Katabami said that the main objective of the organization is to support the Syrian companies willing to participate in exhibitions abroad. "Yesterday we had talks on the Syrian national organization exposition at "Prodexpo 2014" to be held in Moscow in February 2014. We are also ready to organize a business mission of the Syrian companies to Moscow".
